Hello to everyone interested in Gold Prospecting in
New Hampshire.

Yes there is gold In New Hampshire, Surprised! I was when I found out. I was collecting fossils down south, and when I moved to NH I found out there was no fossils, I had to find a new hobby. I was poking around on the internet and boom there it was, find gold in NH. Since then I found out there is not alot of information about prospecting in NH. So I'm going to in the next few weeks sit down and write Tips,Tricks and locations for finding gold in New Hampshire. New Hampshire has many brooks, rivers and streams to start your adventure.
3-5-2009 UPDATE
So I was up on the Wild Ammonoosuc on this past thursday, Yes the river was covered in snow and Ice. However after walking the edge of the river for a few hundred feet "very dangerous could fall thru ice if not carefull" I found a spot where there was no Ice. It was perfect I could dig some dirt out of this hole. There was a nice rock that I was able to dig under and pull out 2 five gallon buckets worth of dirt. Well lugging the dirt back to my truck was no easy task, deep snow and they were heavy. I got a chance to check the river out, boy it looks different in the winter. The Ice and snow rides a foot or so higher then the water, making the river like a ice cave. As I looked around I could remember how much fun I had there last summer and How I really could not wait for all the snow to melt to get going again this summer. So I packed up my dirt and was on my way home, about a 2 hour ride south of here.
So on my way home I was wondering if there was any gold in the dirt I just gathered. I figured I would go home and fill a wheel barrel full of water, and then use my gold pan in the water to pan out the dirt. Well I got home and filled the wheel barrel up and started panning. To my surprise after panning the 2 buckets worth of dirt, there was some gold. Now it wasn't alot but there was 10 little specs hanging out near the edge of my blue gold pan. I was surprised because it wasnt like I could of dug dirt from any location of the river, it was frozen. So I had a big smile on my face, that I had just found some gold in the winter time in New Hampshire. Now I got this idea of winter prospecting from a guy on youtube who was doing this in alaska. If you do this becarefull and use your head, you don't want to fall thru the ice or get trapped and no one around to help you out.
